PPT !
Week 6 ,is already here .
What interesting topics for this week !
LARGE CLASSES !The issue we always complain about over here .Now there are many ideas to get those dozens of students into real learning thanks to interactive PPT !
This course is really beneficial for me .I'm learning how to be a better teacher with not a lot of technology .
I appreciated the essays about large classes so much Ive printed them out for my colleagues to read and benefit as well .
I also liked the idea of out of class activities ,as sometimes the class time is not enough to achieve most tasks ,so office hours and pre-session assignments would both get students involved and reduce time .
I'm looking forward to complete my project although I'm not teaching now but I'm willing to use PPT and TPS techniques to reach a more interactive learning .I'm also planning to use webquest though not the one I first designed !As Ive mentioned earlier on Nicene  my students are university first year English students of elementary level.I'm planning to teach speaking using technology .
Ive seen some of my course mates interested in teaching speaking as well I'm looking forward to cooperate share and learn from them .

It is a pity that you are not teaching now. But please!!! As soon as you get a group start using all these new tools and you will see how good they are. They are good not because others said it on their papers, they are good because they work with our students, because we teachers are learning, there is always something new to learn, but for me this course has been more that incredible, it is full of material, it motivates me as it did it to you, to become a better teacher.
Good teachers are not the ones that Know All, are those who knows how to teach. And I think that people on this course is this kind of teachers, that is why we are here, working, reading, making errors (as I do) surfing many hours at the web, saving pages at delicious, I feel sometimes little creasy.
Any way we are more close to the end than to the beginning, keep on walking till the end.

    Andrea.

  2. Hey batool,
This was another great week, wasn´t it? I agree with you in most of the ideas. I believe, like you, PPT presentations for large classes give us a chance to deliver great classes without much technology on the behalf of our students. I also printed many of the guides we were given this week. I have a big pile now and I will try to make a presentation with my local fellow teachers to share this entire new world of possibilities, so, I understand your feelings on this matter. Many of my colleagues are unaware of technology for education and that´s something I need to look at after finishing this course.
I see you are also interested in teaching speaking skills. I have already set off the assignment for the project. I will have my students to use technology to learn how to pronounce the words in their reading material in a proper manner. That an old time problem I have always had. They pronounce the words as reading in Spanish –English words with Spanish sounds—all wrong. I am hoping this experiment give good results. And Yes, batool, we can join ideas to work on this project or any after this course is over. I hope to be able to be in touch with you thereafter.

  3. Hi Batool!
I agree with you that these interactive PowerPoint presentations can make a big change when it comes to making our classes more interesting and beneficial. Certainly technology is indispensible if we want to make our classes betterm, and this course offers a great insight into many tech tools that were always there, but we weren't aware of them. I hope we'll learn even more in the remaining 4 weeks.
    Cheers, Dzemal
